I read some good ones this month! Check them out ...
An Extraordinary Union by Alyssa Cole
This story is full of spies and pulse racing tension. I found myself clutching the book tighter with each page I read, desperate for the characters find their happy ending even with all the world against them. Tears were shed multiple times, but I ended this book with a content, warm glow in my chest.
Tikka Chance on Me by Suleikha Snyder
I'm surprised this book didn't catch on fire while I was reading it because holy hell, it was hot! Plus, so much delicious Indian food is casually mentioned, I found myself picking up some take out because I NEEDED somosas. This was a lovely quick read with a hero modeled after Chris Evans. Lots of my happy boxes were checked!
Bad Feminist by Roxane Gay
This collection of essays delved into a lot of controversial topics and spurred a great deal of introspection for me. I also found Gay's approach, and her admittance that she's fully aware she isn't perfect, helped keep me from getting defensive or shutting down the times when my views differed from hers. My mind has been changed in some areas, and in others I have a new understanding.
That's it for this month! My newsletter comes out tomorrow with some fun books news. Make sure you sign up for my newsletter if you haven't already!
